Community Climate Action Survey

Home  »  News   »   Community Climate Action Survey

On behalf of the ICECAP partnership the Georgian Bay Biosphere (GBB) has created a public survey to gather input from local residents on climate action and climate change planning in the region.

This survey is the result of the hard work of our 30 Climate Action Group volunteers who have been working diligently throughout the fall to propose actions that communities in the GBB region can take to reduce our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. These actions will be compiled into Climate Action Plans for the GBB region and ICECAP member municipalities. The plans will guide climate action in the region for years to come.

Now that actions have been proposed, it’s time to hear from the public. This survey is designed to solicit feedback on the work that the Climate Action Groups have done. We want to hear from you! What actions do you take to tackle climate change in your own life? What would help you to do more? What leadership do you want to see from community organizations and local governments that are addressing climate change in their own jurisdictions? What other ideas do you have about fighting climate change in the region?

Results from the survey will be used to modify the actions included in the Regional and Local Climate Action Plans and help to prioritize which actions should be implemented first, based on their importance to the community.

The survey will be open for six weeks, January 18th to March 1st. As an added incentive, every week those who have completed the survey will be entered into a draw to win one of several prizes donated by local businesses! Draws are done every Friday at noon and winners are announced every week. To stay up to date, check out our social media: @GBayBiosphere.
