Project SPEEDIER (Smart, Proactive, Enabled, Energy Distribution – Intelligently, Efficiently and Responsive) aims to create a grid that builds towards a net zero smart community in the Town of Parry Sound. This is a unique opportunity where a rural municipality of 6,000 residents is pledging to be net zero in partnership with Bracebridge Generation. In partnership with the Georgian College Research and Innovation Department the project’s greenhouse gas emissions impacts have been calculated. This research will be critical to the future exploration of Carbon Credits for this and other projects.
