Turtle Hatchery Tours & Release Opportunities
August 1 - September 2
Exciting news! GBB staff are offering small-group hatchery tours and turtle release events throughout August!
Turtle Release Dates involve meeting at a drive-to location outside of Parry Sound (site provided after registration) and hiking to a release spot. Please only sign up for this activity if you’re able to hike through 100 meters of forest terrain. Allow 2-3 hours for this activity, suitable for kids over the age of 4.
Turtle Hatchery Tours allow people to discover the world of raising turtles for conservation. See how the eggs are incubated over the summer months, how we keep them safe and check for development. See the turtles swim and possibly even hatch! Allow 1 hour for this activity, suitable for all ages. (Please note that the Hatchery is down one flight of stairs).
This year all events are offered by donation. Your support directly impacts our conservation and education programing. Thank you!
If you’re unable to attend, consider making a donation! Your donations are important to our conservation work and what we can achieve together.
These eggs were collected from construction sites working with municipal and construction partners. They have been collected and cared for by trained staff and with proper permits.
