Maamwi Anjiakiziwin

Collaborative Conservation

We are proud partners in the Maamwi Anjiakiziwin Initiative!

Starting in 2019, First Nations, not-for-profits, and municipalities came together to develop a species at risk conservation project now called Maamwi Anjiakiziwin – Together, Renewal, Land, Life. The project’s goal is to develop collaborative relationships and shared leadership for more effective conservation along eastern Georgian Bay. By sharing information and making decisions together, we can better conserve and steward these lands and waters for species at risk.

This initiative is contributing to national biodiversity targets with funding support from Environment Climate Change Canada and the Ganawenim Meshkiki Initiative.
