MSc Position Available in Partnership with Laurentian

Assessment of road mortality mitigation and community ecology of turtles in Eastern Georgian Bay

We are seeking a highly motivated and hardworking individual with an interest in Species-at-Risk reptile ecology to undertake a field-based thesis project in partnership with the Georgian Bay Biosphere through the Community Nominated Priority Places (CNPP) program, and with Shawanaga First Nation.

The graduate position will be in the lab of Dr. Jackie Litzgus at Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario. The project involves an investigation of the effectiveness of reptile road mortality mitigation in the context of the local turtle community. The MSc position will start in January 2021.

The Litzgus Lab is committed to the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion, both in the lab and in the field, and strives to create a culture that fosters a welcoming, enriching community, while providing rigorous student training and mentorship.

Please email your resume, (unofficial) transcripts, and a cover letter detailing your background, interests and why you should be considered for the position to Dr. Jackie Litzgus and with “MSc Turtles GBBR” in the subject line.

Applications will be considered as they are received. All applications will be reviewed, but only those invited for an interview will be contacted.

The deadline for applying is 1 November 2020.
