GBBR is seeking a dynamic, motivated Community Development Intern to assist in the development and coordination of the Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve’s programs, such as the Integrated Community Energy and Climate Action Plans (ICECAP) and the Community Nominated Priority Place (CNPP) to support species at risk.
ICECAP is a partnership between First Nations and municipalities in the biosphere region to promote a collaborative approach to energy efficiency and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from an internal operations perspective, as well as the broader communities.
CNPP is also a regional collaborative partnership working to protect species at risk and associated habitat through a variety of programming. Working with project partners, this position will work to advance these programs through partnership development and communications, and community engagement with a focus on youth training and development. The ideal candidate will have an environmental background with project experience, in particular, with a focus on community development and/or youth training.
