Native Plant Fundraiser Order Form

All plants will be available for pick up on Saturday, June 11th, 2022. Buyers will receive a 10-minute time slot to pick up their plants.

Pick up instructions will be emailed to you between June 1-3. You will be assigned a 10-minute pick up time at the location that you selected.

These plants are from a small-scale nursery in Omemee called Grow Wild, who specialize in native plants for restoration projects and native plant gardens.

Plants are grown from seeds collected from local indigenous plants to ensure high survival rates. When these native plants grow in suitable habitats they thrive because they are genetically adapted to the conditions. Only a small percentage of seeds are collected, but from many plants within a population to ensure high genetic diversity.

Not all plants are put under grow lights in the spring as they would be at large-scale operations, and many fall blooming plants may not be out of dormancy at the time of pick up. These plants will be smaller at purchase.

These plants are perennials and are already one or more years old, not seedlings from this year. Therefore, despite plant size, the root stock will be well established and viable.

The Native Plant Fundraiser is one of several fundraising events that support the Georgian Bay Biosphere, registered Canadian Charity #871001335 RR 0001.

We invite you to consider making a donation to the Biosphere with your plant fundraiser orders. Donations over $20 will receive a Charitable Tax Receipt by email. (Note, under Canada Revenue Agency regulations plant purchases cannot receive a charitable receipt).
